7-Year-Old Fighting Brain Tumor Becomes A Superhero Thanks To Local Police

By  |

All kids want to be a superhero for a day, don’t they?Whether they want to be one, or hang out with one, I don’t think anyone can argue the amusement a superhero can bring.

Darien Hoefling got his superhero wish come true, plus a bunch of superhero friends, too.

Hoefling is already an everyday superhero. He’s only 7-years-old and he’s had two surgeries to aid in his battle against a brain tumor.

During his recovery, he decides to make keychains for his local police department. Instead of resting, or focusing on himself, he focused on others. More specifically, the everyday superheroes that he wants to be like one day.

Thankfully, these everyday heroes of his community decided to return the act of kindness and give Hoefling the superhero treatment right back.

Everyone in the department dressed up as superheroes with Hoefling, sworn him in as an honorary officer, and made him feel like the brave, special, kid he is.

Hoefling has been through hell and back and his journey isn’t over yet. But now, he knows he has a whole team of superheroessupporting him.

I can’t imagine what sick children go through every day and it’s beautiful to see communities coming together for their neighbors in need.
