Daughter Calls Stranger Daddy, Then Mom Is Terrified Hes Judging Her On The Plane
Like any parent, Shanell Mouland was concerned about her daughter’s behavior during a flight. Sheknew Katewould be sitting next to a stranger, but when she saw it was a businessman she thoughthe was going to judge her.
I looked at him and I thought hes got business to take care of, hes not going to want to deal with Kate, Mouland told CBS 2.
The 3-year-old was fussy butshe also has autism. Mouland was familiar with being judged harshly by strangers which is why the entrepreneur’s behavior caught her off guard.
Kate tried to talk with the man, she even called him ‘Daddy’ several times. The man, Eric Kunkel, didn’t huff and puff, he played with her.
I just said yeah, OK. I mean, its just a little girl trying to deal with a situation that I think being on a plane for any 3-year-old is a stressful time, Kunkel said.
Mouland was so taken aback by the man’s kindness she wrote an open letter to him on her blog.
The moment you sat down, Kate started to rub your arm. Your jacket was soft and she liked the feel of it. You smiled at her and she said: Hi, Daddy, thats my mom. Then she had you,” she wrote.
The letter quickly went viral and Mouland was finallyable to track down Kunkel for an incredible reunion.
I only wrote it thinking the few people that followed my blog would read it and know we had a great experience and I never in a million years thought it would reach Eric, the mother said.
You never know what a simple smile means to someone!
