Look Closely At This Photo Of Two Cops. It’s Going Viral For One STUNNING Reason

By  |

Being a cop is no easy deal. You have to face the dangers of life on a daily basis. There are risks involved in the job that are much greater than any other domestic job. You never know which day could be your last and public safety is kept as the top priority, even before personal safety. They are not appreciated as much as they should be and they rarely become popular among the general public.

On a regular basis, the law enforcement finds itself to be on the other side of the riots and the masses are not as friendly as they should be to the cops. This fact can be understood by knowing the amazing story of two cops, whose picture took the internet by a storm. The reason behind this was not too elaborate but the two cops faced quite a lot of heat when all they were trying to do was manage the security of their neighborhood. This is the story of Officer Brittany Beard Hilton and her husband, Steven. The couple faced quite a lot of anger from their neighborhood on a regular basis.

Brittany Decided To Do Something About It

She uploaded a picture of herself with her husband on Facebook so that they could get a little attention and bring the matter to light so that the people could understand the plight that she is facing on a daily basis.

What Was So Special About This Picture?

The couple was facing the camera with a smile on their face, trying to be brave despite the troubles of the job. The person who is sitting next to her in the uniform is her husband, Steven. Both are on the same force and the picture of the two has been shared more than 10,000 times.

Their Job

Both Brittany and Steven are on the Texan Police Force, working in Jefferson’s County. They are located in the Coastal Plain region of Southeast Texas in the United States of America, protecting a population of more than 250,000 people.

The Couple And Their Family

Brittany and Steven have a normal family just like anyone else in the area. They have four daughters and yet, they have sacrificed on many occasions their wants and needs in order to better serve their county and country. They work hard, as police officers and as citizens of the country, to make their neighborhood safe.

More Than Just A Picture

The picture in question is special because of two things. One, the couple is dedicated to their job and even with their family, they are always on the job in order to better protect their neighborhood. Two, the picture was taken on Thanksgiving Day when all the other families were around the table having Thanksgiving dinner while this particular couple was out on the streets, ensuring everyone’s safety.

Feeling The Heat

On several occasions, Brittany was threatened and told that she should be shot in the head. The reason behind this was quite stupid and ridiculous, because she was a cop. People were openly hostile towards the law enforcement officials. However, Brittany faced hostility because of yet another reason. People of Texas often threatened her because she was a woman. Texans like to bring the age-old Southern hostility to the table and have an anti-authority outlook as well.

Brittany’s Reaction To The Threats And The Hostility

Even though Brittany faced hostility on a regular basis, it did not stop her from doing her job. She maintained a calm demeanor and said that she knew that many people have been wronged by the cops of the United States of America. She went on to say that she often prayed that such incidents do not happen in the future. When she posted this message along with the image, people appreciated and came out in her support.

Daughter Of A Crime Victim

When Brittany was three years old, her mother was murdered. Even though she went through this horrible tragedy at such a young age, she decided to serve the people of her country and help protect them from any such crime. In an interview, she said that the main reason behind her choice of a career was so that no other child in America would have to undergo the same thing that she did all those years ago. Ever since she joined the force, she has been serving the Bridge City Police Department.

Brittany Spreads A Message For The People Of The World

Brittany says, ““All you may see in this photo is two smiling police officers. But there is more. We are husband and wife, parents to four beautiful girls, we are a son and a daughter, a Brother and sister, a grandson and granddaughter, a Niece and nephew. (Steven is also an army veteran). We are friends to many. Before you say hateful things and put all officers in a category….remember we are all individuals attached to a delicate thin blue line. We are attacked daily and getting killed just for putting on a badge. You voice your opinion, and rally against law enforcement over tickets!! We are risking our lives. This photograph was taken on thanksgiving day. My husband and I both decided to work, giving up time with our family so the community would be safe. Think before you speak. Your words could promote deadly actions. WE BLEED BLUE! All lives matter.”

The Effect Of Her Message

Once the message was out, people started to come forward in support of the police departments all around the United States of America. There was an increase in the number of volunteers for the force and the overall morale of the whole police department was also boosted. With the new energy and enthusiasm, Brittany and her colleagues are actively helping the people of her neighborhood and community from the bad effects of drugs and addiction. They actively take on the challenges that they face in the line of duty and are not depressed when the outcomes do not match the expectations.
