Olive Garden Gives Thousands Of Free Meals To First Responders To Say Thank You
While most of us spent our long Labor Day Weekend squeezing out as much fun as we could fromthe last days of summer, there was a special group of people who weren’t able to take the holiday off work.
That would be all of our local police officers, fire departments, and other emergency first responders we relyon when we’re at our most vulnerable.
The various crews are all essentially real life superheroes, and while they certainly aren’t in it for the accolades, a simple“thank you” for their life-saving actions can make their tough jobsjust a little bit brighter.
Which is why local Olive Garden restaurants across the country were happy to provide a free meal for hundreds of officers and responders, a tradition they’ve been carrying out for the past 15 years.
Fire Captain Trevor Olsenin Duluth, IA, decided to keep the restaurant’sincredibly kind offer a secret from his men and women until the food arrived at their station. The Lincoln Park Fire Department members were floored by the buffet and happy to fill their bellies with breadsticks, salad, and pasta and still have plenty of leftovers to take home!
Over 800 of the franchise’s kitchens in the US cooked up the generous helpings of community appreciation that no doubt touched the hearts of every man and woman in uniform stepping up with a plate.
Take a look below to hear more from Captain Olsen.
And don’t forget to SHARE this amazing act of kindness with your loved ones!
