These Pets Acted As Total Heroes And Saved Humans From Disaster
We live in a world where everyone is obsessed with some or the other superhero. The main reason behind this obsession is that we want someone to be there who will save us when we might end up in trouble. In the movies, they show us someone who can fly or has super strength and eventually, he or she ends up saving the world. However, when you stop to look, you might just end up finding a superhero in your own backyard. That’s right. Because animals have an acute senses and they can predict the upcoming disasters, they are able to save the lives of the humans around them. This has been seen many times and some of these acts of heroism are mentioned below.
Todd Beats The Snake
Paula Godwin, Todd’s owner, went for a walk on a bright sunny day. She was all chirpy and blissful to have the sun out. In all her good mood, she did not expect to encounter a rattlesnake. Lucky for her, she had taken Todd along with her who threw himself in front of her. The snake bit the brave six-month old Golden Retriever. Todd was in the hospital for quite a long time but he managed to make a full recovery.
Buddy Saves Owner From Inferno
This three-year old German Shepherd was quite brave when he saved his owner from death by fire. His owner, Ben Heinrichs, was working on his truck in his garage when a spark ignited some gasoline. A state trooper had responded to the 911 call but was lost on the snow-covered roads. Buddy found the cop and took him straight to the garage which was on fire.
Molly Knows About The Fire
Molly woke up in the middle of the night when she smelled fire in the house. The labrador woke her owners by tapping her feet on the floor next to the bed where they were sleeping. Her quick thinking that day saved the lives of seven humans and three other pets from a burning home.
Tara Saves The Child
Tara is a small domestic cat who saved her human’s little one. Young Jeremy Triantafilo was attacked by a huge dog when he was riding his bicycle in the driveway. Seeing this, Tara jumped into action and wasted no time in chasing the huge dog away.
Khan Protects Charlotte
The Svilicic family had just adopted Khan and were surprised to see him acting strangely with their daughter Charlotte. The two of them were playing together when Khan suddenly grabbed Charlotte by her diaper and tossed her away. Charlotte’s mother was unable to comprehend why Khan would attack her little child until she saw that he was protecting the child from a large King Brown snake.

Mr. Boo’s family had gotten accustomed to him being a quiet cat who did not make much of a noise. However, the family woke up one Tuesday morning to find Mr. Boo meowing and whimpering like crazy. As it turns out, the cat had detected a poisonous carbon monoxide leak and was trying to alert the family of the danger.

Simon Steggall was a 42-year old diabetic from Warboys, England and he was watching television with his wife one day. He started to slip out of his consciousness and the only one who noticed this was Dory. She began jumping on his chest and licking his face so that his wife’s attention could be drawn to the fact that he was unconscious.
Mandy The Goat
Neil Osborne, an Australian farmer, was kicked by a cow in 2002 and had very severe injuries including a broken hip. He had fallen in a pile of manure and was in the harsh weather of the island continent for five days. His goat, Mandy, kept him warm in the night and allowed him to milk her for hydration and nutrition.
Chi Chi The Chihuahua
Chi Chi was out with his owners Rick and Mary Lane on the beach when he suddenly jumped from his chair and started to bark in a strange manner. When Rick and Mary investigated the reason, they found out that there were two ladies who were struggling to get out of trouble in the ocean after a riptide had gotten them.
Honey The Cocker Spaniel
Michael Bosch had adopted Honey without realizing that the dog would be repaying the favor so soon. The two were in a car and Bosch was backing out of his driveway when the car slipped and fell down an 80-foot drop. Michael was stuck in the car and had sustained several injuries as well. However, Honey managed to escape the vehicle and waited outside the neighbor’s door until he came home and helped Bosch.
Willie The Quaker Parrot
Megan was babysitting a toddler and Willie was in the same room. When Megan left the room for a couple of minutes, she heard Willie’s screams of “Mama baby” and loud noises of wings flapping. She immediately rushed into the room and saw that the toddler was choking. She saved the baby and later credited it all to Willie’s talking and timely actions.
Lulu The Pot Belly Pig
Jo-Anne was suffering from cardiac arrest and the only one around was Lulu. The pot belly pig forced her way out of the yard and played dead on the road to attract attention. When a person stopped, Lulu led the person back to Jo-Anne, whose life was later saved.
Cher Ami The Homing Pigeon
There are only a few animals as dedicated to their duty as Cher Ami. This was a homing pigeon used in the first world war to deliver a critical message to the commanding officer. Cher Ami managed to save the lives of the 200 American soldiers in the battalion by delivering the message even though she was shot twice in the chest, once in the wings, and had even lost her leg.

Three men had abducted a 12-year-old girl and were trying to force her into marriage. The girl was screaming and when the group was passing through a bush, they were suddenly surrounded by three lions. The pride chased away the men and protected the girl until the police arrived. After that, they just retreated into the forest.

Karina was separated from her father and was forced to spend nine days in the Siberian wilderness. All she had for company was Kyrachaan, the puppy. He helped the little girl stay warm and after nine days, he left to search for help and led the search party directly to the little girl.

Janet was a retired nurse suffering from severe back pain. She was on a morphine drip and was slipping into unconsciousness when Slinky realized that his owner was on the verge of death. Slinky went to the neighbor’s house and tapped on their windows until it got their attention and they helped Janet out of danger.
Sky Gives Up Its Own Life
Franz van der Poll was spearfishing off the coast of Point Samson, Australia with his dog Sky, when their boat was surrounded by two giant sharks. The two in the boat knew that they were in danger and Sky didn’t waste a moment and sacrificed her own life to save her owner’s life. Franz escaped the dangerous situation and has a special plaque in honor of Sky.

Dylan noticed that the house was on fire before the smoke detectors realized the same. He started to chirp and flap his wings loudly to wake up his owner. When the owner woke up, the two of them made it out of the house safely.
Ace The Pit Bull
The owner of this little pit bull was a 13 year old deaf boy. One day, the boy was taking a nap and had removed his hearing device. He did not notice the fact that the house was on fire. Luckily, Ace noticed it and proceeded to warn the little boy so that the two of them could make it out of the house safely.

Wunsy and his owner had gone for a walk in London’s Sunny Hill Park when they were faced by an assailant. The attacker pushed the girl to the ground and was trying to rob her when Wunsy swooped down and attacked the robber with his wings and talons, saving his owner from any injuries.
Macho The Russian Jack-Russell Terrier
When Macho and his owner were taking a stroll through a park in Moscow, the dog started to pull on his leash to get his owner to take notice of an abandoned baby. The child was suffering from severe hypothermia and had been crying for quite a long time. Macho and his owner were able to save the baby in time.
Rabbit Saves Family From Fire
An Alaskan family had a pet rabbit who proved to be the hero of their lives. The family had not noticed a fire one night because they were sleeping but the rabbit knew that it was going to be a problem. He jumped on the owner and start to scratch her until she woke up and took notice of the fire. While the family was able to make it out safely, the rabbit died due to excessive inhalation of smoke.

When the initial earthquake shook the ground, Babu began to insist on his owner to take him for a walk. The 83-year old owner and the dog started to go out for the walk when Babu dragged the owner to high ground. Just a few minutes later, the tsunami struck the coast and their home was washed away by the huge wave.

A stray cougar had decided to wander off into the backyard of the Forman family home. Angel, their pet golden retriever, tried to save the family by charging at the cougar. In the fight that ensued, the dog received quite a lot of deep bites. Luckily, the cougar ran away and the dog was able to make a full recovery in the hospital.

He led the neighbors to Paul who was paralyzed from the waist down after the accident.

The day that the Littler family had adopted Hercules was the same day that he protected his new family from an intruder. The dog began to growl when Robert Littler had taken him out for a bathroom break. He started running towards the end of the yard and grabbed an intruder by the ankle. The intruder had cut the phone lines to the house so that the family would not have been able to call for help.

Titan was behaving strangely one morning when John Benton was trying to leave home for work. The dog would run between John and the stairs repeatedly. John realized that something was wrong and followed Titan to find out that his wife Gloria had fallen and was suffering from a brain aneurysm. Gloria recovered thankful to the unconditional love that the pit bull had for the family.
Dolphins Rescue A Teenager
A teenager had jumped from a bridge into the cold waters of the California ocean when a dolphin noticed that the girl was in danger. The dolphin broke from its pack and swam to save the girl and was soon followed by the entire pod. A group of sailors nearby noticed the strange behavior of the dolphins and decided to investigate. The found the little girl and took her to a hospital.

Arf and his two-year old master were playing outside when suddenly, the dog began to growl. The behavior was strange enough for the grandmother to come rushing outside. She saw that the dog and a coral snake were deep in battle. She called for help and the boy’s mother managed to shoot the snake.
Dolphins Rescue A Surfer
Todd Endris, a 24-year old surfer from Monterey, California, was attacked by a great white shark when he was surfing. He was praying for a miracle which came in the form of a pod of bottlenose dolphins. Before the dolphins could reach him, the shark had already mauled Todd’s leg. However, the dolphins formed a protective ring around him and Todd was able to swim back to the shore.

A three-year old boy had managed to climb into the western lowland gorilla enclosure at Brookfield Zoo. Everyone around the enclosure had expected that the Gorillas would attack the boy. However, Binti Jua picked up the boy and kept him safe and moved him to the entrance of the enclosure where the zookeepers retrieved him.
Buddy Dialed 911
Buddy’s owner had trained him to dial 911 if there ever was an emergency. One day, the owner had suffered from a seizure and Buddy managed to recall all his training. He dialed 911 and the emergency medical services were able to arrive on the scene and save the owner.
Megan The Rottweiler
Megan had learned a party trick where she could open the door lock by turning the doorknob. One day, the owner Gary Gregory had passed out due to internal bleeding. The paramedics arrived on the door only to find it locked and Megna was able to open the door to let the paramedics in.
Kilo The Pit Bull
Kilo saved his human from an armed attacker by jumping on the attacker. In the process, the attacker had shot Kilo in the head. The attacker fled the scene leaving Kilo injured and in need of medical attention. Luckily, the bullet did not penetrate the skull.
Penny The Black Labrador
Penny was named a hero by the local community when she rescued an unconscious woman from a fast flowing river. The dog was going on a short walk with her owner when they came across a wheelchair on the riverbank. They noticed the unconscious woman floating nearby and Penny’s owner asked her to fetch.
Rescued By The Elephants
A massive tsunami had ravaged the island of Phuket in the summer of 2004. Hundreds of people lost their lives but young Amber Owen was not one of them. She was on the back of Ning Nong, an Asian elephant, who started to suddenly make his way to higher ground.
The Horse Vs The Cow
An angry dairy cow had it in for a woman when she was saved by her horse. Kerry Gold, the horse, had noticed that her owner was in distress and had heard her cries when she was pinned by an enormous cow. The woman knew that she would not survive the attack. The horse kicked the cow until it backed away.
Whale Saves A Diver
This was when a Beluga whale saved Yang Yun, a 26-year old freelance diver. Yang’s legs had cramped up when she was swimming in the dive pool in north-east China. She was rapidly sinking to the bottom when the Beluga whale grabbed her leg gently and brought her back to the surface.
Sea Lions Save Kevin
Kevin Hines had fallen from the Golden Gates bridge and had just managed to survive the icy waters because of a helpful sea lion. The sea lion had helped him keep afloat and kept circling him until the coast guard took notice.
Beavers Save A Boy
Rheal Guindon had suffered a great loss when his parents had a boating accident and drowned during the camping holiday. Three wild beavers had saved Rheal Guindon and it was only their help that saved him else she would have met the same fate as her parents. The beavers kept her warm during the night to help her survive.
