What happens when a 600 pound sumo fights a 160 pound MMA fighter?
Fighting is something humans have made a spectacle of probably all the way back to the caveman days, but it’s a prevalent trait in our history.
The weirder and more eventful the fight, the better it is for everyone else watching – which is exactly why fights like the one you’re about to see ever occur! Basically the coordinators pitted a 273Kg sumo wrestler named Emmanuel Yarbrough versus 76Kg Daiju Takase, a kick boxer who specializes in MMA fighting, and the fight was brutal.
You can tell Emmanuel understood his stamina limitations and wanted the fight over as quickly as possible, but Daiju was waiting for that! In the end it was a battle of attrition between a Goliath and a slippery little guy, and the Goliath falls.
It doesn’t take a professional fighter to see that these two very different fighting styles should probably be nowhere near each other in a ring, but I’ll be d***ed if it’s not one of the most entertaining fights I’ve seen since GSP fought Matt Hughes the last time! Because of that it really would come as no surprise to learn that these types of fights become more widespread – would you watch?
