It is quite easy to come out of the closet today because society has become quite accepting of lifestyle choices. However, it was hard for people to accept gay, lesbian, queer, or any other lifestyle choice a couple of decades ago. However, when society became quite more acceptable, many people started to announce the fact that they did not adhere to the more conventional straight norms. Celebrities have been a big part of the acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. Having some celebrities on your side means that you have the moral support of millions of their fans too.

Sarah Paulson

Sarah Paulson was outed as gay by accident when she kissed her girlfriend at the time, Cherry Jones, after winning a Tony award in 2005. Afterwards, Sarah said that she did not mean to let the world know about her being gay but that it was out of natural instinct that she acted.
